Parkinson's Fitness Ability-based Exercise, Arts and Movement Programs

August Newsletter and Class Schedule 8/3 - 8/9

Dear Friends:

Now is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the summer! Getting some time in the sun can boost your health—adding Vitamin D which strengthens your immune system and your bones; encouraging more movement which can help you manage your PD symptoms; promoting better sleep; lowering stress; and enhancing your mood and focus.

Thanks for continuing to show up for our in person fitness classes. We know that every bit of movement helps to make it easier to manage your Parkinson's symptoms. As a reminder, some of our fitness spaces are quite warm lately, please remember to wear lighter layers and to bring water so you can stay hydrated.

SPECIAL NOTICE!

Both the Tuesday, 1 PM Balance in Motion and the Wednesday, 1 PM Breathe & Stretch Yoga ZOOM classes with Dianna will NOT be held this week. If you usually attend either class or know someone who does who may not see this notice, PLEASE share the information.

Thank you!

Linda

Parkinson's Roadmap for Education and Support Services (PRESS™) is an 8 week support series: Wednesdays, Sep 2nd – Oct 21st, from 3:00 - 4:30PM

PRESS is an 8 week support series on Zoom with tailored content to address the psychosocial needs of those who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s within the last five year. PRESS provides an opportunity for people with PD and one care partner or family member to meet with others facing a similar experience and share coping strategies regarding day-to-day issues related to living with Parkinson’s. For many people with PD, the program is a gateway to education, support services, and community-based advocacy. PRESS is a place to share their experiences, feelings, and strategies for coping with the disease.
